The epic battle pitting North against the South, industrial against agricultural, slave states against those against slavery.

Immigration

Immigrants to the United States may be divided into two distinct periods. They had distinctive reasons for emigrating from their native lands, and for choosing North America. Before the Civil War: mostly native Americans , Spainards ,French and English. Post Civil War: mostly Eastern Europeans.

The United States Civil war

In 1845 The Kansas-Nebraska act started. It seemed that they couldn't agree. They couldn't agree on the state to be anti or proslavery. Abraham Lincoln wasn't anti-slavery at first.

2300 died.
Free slaves as a threat.
It changed politics.
Blacks allowed to fight.
Ended on July 4th 1863
General confessed.
2800 on confederte.
sept. 1863.
